(Hoax) Ohio’s Salt Fork Bigfoot Mystery
This story continues to pop up on a regular basis, however, no details are ever released or given out, no names, no contact information, and it happens to be claimed that it happened at Salt Fork State Park in Ohio, where the Ohio Bigfoot Conference is held annually, and it seems that a lot of so-called sightings and evidence obtained there is usually hoaxes. What better way to keep attendance up at the conference, than all the publicity that gets generated from these hoaxes and stories. JMHO of the editor of the Squatchopedia 2.0

Another Cover-Up? Ohio’s Salt Fork Bigfoot Mystery Resurfaces
Back in 2017, whispers began circulating about a Tuscarawas County man who allegedly shot and killed a Bigfoot while hunting near Salt Fork State Park — one of the most active Bigfoot hotspots in the United States.
The creature was said to stand around 6.5 feet tall, covered in thick, coarse hair, and walked upright like a man. A local Bigfoot researcher was reportedly called to the scene and confirmed its bipedal nature. Soon after, state officials allegedly secured the body and transferred it to an undisclosed facility.
Then came the most explosive part of the story: DNA analysis supposedly revealed Neanderthal origins, with no trace of modern human DNA. If true, this would force a rewrite of history, suggesting not extinction — but evolutionary concealment.
What followed? Total silence. According to sources, a gag order was issued for “security reasons.” No official statements. No media coverage. And although rumors mention a photo of the examination, no image has ever been publicly verified or released.
Salt Fork State Park remains a magnet for Bigfoot sightings, and is home to the Ohio Bigfoot Conference, organized by longtime researcher Marc DeWerth. One researcher claimed the being matched the one he saw at the park in 1992 — decades before this alleged shooting.
Coincidence? Or part of a deeper pattern?
