Jersey Devil.

In 1909, a Philadelphia business man had a plan to make a fortune. He claimed he had caught the Jersey Devil. He obtained a kangaroo and attached wings to it with a harness. A young boy would hide behind the cage that the creature was kept and prod at it with a stick to make it jump forward toward the paying customers.
